Dota 2 Esports World Cup Playoff Teams Confirmed as Survival Stage Awaits

The Dota 2 tournament at the Esports World Cup 2026 has officially completed its Group Stage, with the final two direct Playoff spots going to PARIVISION and Team Yandex. They join Team Falcons and Nigma Galaxy as the four group winners that will advance straight to the single-elimination Playoffs, while the remaining qualified teams prepare for the high-stakes Survival Stage beginning on July 14.

With The International 2026 just weeks away, the Esports World Cup continues to serve as one of the final opportunities for the world's best teams to test themselves against elite competition before Dota 2's biggest event of the year.

PARIVISION and Team Yandex Finish Strong to Secure Playoff Berths

PARIVISION entered the final day of Group C undefeated and faced its toughest challenge against Team Spirit, the only team capable of denying them first place. Although Spirit claimed the opening game, PARIVISION responded with a dominant second-game victory to secure a 1-1 draw, preserving its unbeaten record and locking up the group's top seed with a 9-1 record.

Group D featured an equally important showdown between Team Yandex and 1w Team, with both teams entering the day tied atop the standings. Yandex rose to the occasion, comfortably winning the opening game before surviving a grueling 60-minute battle in Game 2 to complete the sweep and finish first in the group.

Both teams now receive a direct path to the Playoffs, avoiding the do-or-die Survival Stage that awaits the remaining contenders.

Four Teams Advance Directly to the Playoffs

After six days of Group Stage competition, only four organizations secured automatic qualification to the Playoffs by finishing first in their respective groups.

The four teams will return to action when the Playoffs begin on July 16, with the tournament shifting into a single-elimination format that will determine the Dota 2 Esports World Cup champion.

Survival Stage Set for July 14

While four teams have already secured their Playoff places, the battle is far from over for the remaining contenders. Twelve teams will compete in the Survival Stage from July 14 to 15, where only four organizations will earn the final Playoff berths.

The Survival Stage will use a single-elimination bracket, leaving no room for error as every match becomes a must-win series.

The conclusion of the Group Stage also brought an end to the Esports World Cup journey for eight teams.

OG suffered one of the tournament's biggest disappointments after falling 2-0 to Virtus.pro on the final day, a result that eliminated the two-time The International champions from contention. Virtus.pro's victory, combined with LGD Gaming's sweep over IC x Insanity, allowed both teams to advance to the Survival Stage.

Joining OG among the eliminated teams are:

GamerLegion Group A
Poor Rangers Group A
L1GA TEAM Group B
Level UP Group B
REKONIX Group C
Team Nemesis Group C

With the Group Stage now complete, only 16 teams remain in contention for the Dota 2 Esports World Cup title. The Survival Stage begins on July 14, with four Playoff spots still up for grabs before the tournament enters its final knockout phase later this week.
