Hanwha Life Esports Win 2026 MSI After Thrilling 3-2 Victory Over Bilibili Gaming
Hanwha Life Esports defeated Bilibili Gaming 3-2 to claim the 2026 MSI title, ending BLG's Golden Road hopes while securing its first international championship and a spot at Worlds 2026.

Hanwha Life Esports have captured their first-ever League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) title after defeating Bilibili Gaming 3-2 in a thrilling grand final on Sunday. In their tournament debut, the LCK's first seed overcame the LPL champions in a back-and-forth series to lift the trophy, claim $500,000 in prize money, and secure a direct qualification spot for the 2026 League of Legends World Championship.
The victory also ended BLG's hopes of completing the coveted Golden Road; winning every major title in a single competitive season, and marked the first time an LCK team has won MSI on home soil in South Korea.
Hanwha Life Overcomes the Odds to Lift Its First MSI Trophy
Hanwha Life's road to the championship was anything but straightforward.
The Korean side opened the Bracket Stage with dominant 3-0 victories over Team Secret Whales and G2 Esports, but their momentum came to a halt in the Upper Bracket Final, where BLG handed them a convincing 3-1 defeat to book the first spot in the grand final.
Forced into the Lower Bracket, Hanwha Life kept its tournament hopes alive with an impressive reverse sweep over LYON, earning a rematch against the same BLG roster that had knocked them down just days earlier.
This time, the result was different.
Five Games, Momentum Swings, and a Championship Finish
The grand final delivered one of the most entertaining series of the 2026 League of Legends season.
Hanwha Life drew first blood by taking a chaotic 43-minute opener before BLG responded with consecutive victories in Games 2 and 3, moving within one game of the MSI title. Facing elimination once again, Hanwha Life answered with a dominant performance in Game 4, where Zeus' Swain, Kanavi's Lee Sin, and Gumayusi's Ashe overwhelmed BLG to force a decisive fifth game.
The winner-take-all finale lived up to expectations.
Both teams traded objectives and teamfight victories throughout the match, with neither side able to build a decisive advantage. BLG looked poised to seize control after contesting every major neutral objective, but Hanwha Life found its breakthrough around Baron. As BLG attempted to secure the objective, Seo "Kanavi" Jin-hyeok produced a perfectly timed Baron steal that swung the game back in his team's favor.
With Baron buff in hand and Zeus' Dr. Mundo proving nearly impossible to bring down, Hanwha Life marched through the mid lane and closed out the series after a tense 36-minute final game, securing the organization's first international championship.
Zeus Named Finals MVP as Hanwha Life Books Worlds Spot
While every member of Hanwha Life contributed throughout the tournament, top laner Choi "Zeus" Woo-je was named the Oppo Finals MVP after consistently delivering game-changing performances during the championship series.
His impact was especially evident in the deciding game, where his Dr. Mundo absorbed enormous pressure while creating space for Gumayusi's Yunara and Delight's Lulu to control late-game teamfights. Combined with Kanavi's clutch Baron steal, Hanwha Life's veterans held their nerve when the pressure was at its highest.
For BLG, the loss ends what had been an outstanding MSI campaign. The LPL champions swept LYON, T1, and Hanwha Life in the Upper Bracket before falling one game short of the title in the rematch. The defeat also ends the organization's pursuit of the Golden Road, with BLG settling for $300,000 as tournament runner-up.
