Smartico Acquisition Strengthens Optimove Without Full Integration

Deal brings together CRM and gamification strengths without merging operations

Optimove and Smartico UMG

Optimove has signed an agreement to purchase Smartico, in a move that brings two major iGaming marketing platforms under one roof, while still keeping both companies fully independent.

The deal, expected to close in the coming weeks, will see Smartico still continue to operate with its own team, leadership, and product direction. For clients, it’s essentially business as usual, just with added backing behind the scenes.

Independence at the Core

Unlike a typical acquisition, this one isn’t about merging platforms or rebranding. Both Optimove and Smartico will continue to run separately, keeping their own identities, strategies, and roadmaps.

Smartico’s founders will remain in control of day to day operations, ensuring the company keeps moving in the same direction it has so far. At the same time, Optimove strengthens its position in the market by bringing a strong competitor into its ever growing ecosystem.

Combining Different Strengths

The deal makes sense when you look at what each company brings to the table.

Optimove has built its reputation around data driven CRM and AI powered marketing, helping operators to better understand and engage their players. Smartico, on the other hand, has mainly focused on gamification, adding interactive elements that keep users engaged and coming back.

Together, they cover two key areas of player engagement, without actually combining their products. Instead, both platforms will continue to develop alongside each other, giving operators more choice rather than forcing everything into one system.

Why Now?

The move comes at a time when the iGaming market is growing quickly but also becoming more complex. Operators are dealing with different regulations across regions, while also trying to keep players engaged and active in an increasingly competitive space.

That’s making tools like CRM platforms and gamification solutions more important than ever, and this deal positions both companies to scale faster as demand increases.

Competition Still in Play

Interestingly, Optimove and Smartico will still compete in the market, even after the deal is finalized. Both companies plan to keep building their own products and pushing innovation in their own ways.

It’s a bit of a different approach, but one that reflects a bigger belief that competition, even within the same group, can lead to better products and outcomes for operators.

Looking Ahead for Both Companies

Rather than changing the market overnight, this deal is more about strengthening what already exists. Operators will still have access to both platforms, but now they have more resources behind them.

As the iGaming space continues to evolve, moves like this show how important player engagement has become, and how companies are positioning themselves to stay ahead.
