Tennessee Senate Advances Sweepstakes Casino Ban
New Bill Could Remove Sweepstakes Casinos From the State

Tennessee lawmakers are moving to shut down sweepstakes casinos. The Tennessee Senate has passed a bill that would ban sweepstakes style casino platforms in the state. The measure was approved with a 32-0 vote, showing strong support from lawmakers.
The bill will now move to the Tennessee House of Representatives for the next stage. If it's passed, the law could force many sweepstakes casino sites to stop operating in Tennessee.
Bill Targets Sweepstakes Casino Model

The proposal focuses on sweepstakes casinos that use a dual currency system. These platforms usually offer two types of coins. One is used for gameplay (GC), while the other currency can sometimes be redeemed for cash or prizes (SC).
Lawmakers say this model allows some sites to offer casino style games without following the same rules as licensed gambling operators. The bill would classify these platforms as illegal gambling under Tennessee law.
Operators Could Face Fines
The bill also includes penalties for companies that continue operating in the state. Operators could face fines between $5,000 and $15,000 for each violation.
The Tennessee Attorney General would also have the power to take legal action against platforms that do not comply with the law. State regulators have already taken steps in the past by sending cease and desist letters to several sweepstakes operators.
What Happens Next
The bill now heads to the Tennessee House, where lawmakers will review and vote on the proposal. If approved and signed into law, sweepstakes casinos could soon be banned across the state.
For now, we will be watching closely to see what happens next.
