USA Esports Launches to Unite American Competitive Gaming Scene
USA Esports has been established to bring structure to the U.S. competitive gaming scene, with plans to connect amateur, collegiate, and professional players under one system.

A new organization called USA Esports has officially been formed, aiming to bring structure and direction to the United States’ competitive gaming landscape.
Established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in August 2025, the group was created to support American players and help the country compete more effectively on the global stage. The move comes at a time when esports continues to grow across North America, with major tournaments, teams, and investments expanding rapidly in the region.
According to its leadership, the idea behind USA Esports did not happen overnight. The organization is the result of more than a year of discussions involving volunteers, collegiate leaders, and industry figures who saw a clear gap in how esports is structured in the U.S.
Jesse Bodony, now President and CEO, previously worked with the Voice of Intercollegiate Esports, where he collaborated with university officials on the future of college esports programs. The push for a national body gained traction after the Olympic esports conversation picked up in 2024, raising questions about how the U.S. could better prepare its players for international competition.
From those talks, one issue kept coming up. Unlike many countries, the United States does not have a single organization that connects every level of esports. Professional teams, college programs, and amateur players often operate separately, without a unified pathway.
That is exactly what USA Esports wants to change.
The USA Esports project goals
The long-term goal is ambitious. The organization hopes to eventually earn recognition from the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, similar to how traditional sports like basketball or soccer are governed nationally. If that happens, it could give esports a more formal structure in the country and open the door to wider support and development.
USA Esports also plans to work with experienced figures in the scene to build standards for training, safety, and competition. Well-known names like Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg have already been mentioned as part of the effort to guide the next generation of players.
The vision is simple. The group wants to create a clear path for aspiring gamers, starting from grassroots play all the way to college and professional levels. In many ways, it is trying to build a system similar to traditional sports, where talent can be developed step by step.
The launch of USA Esports does not solve everything overnight, but it marks a shift. For the first time, there is a serious push to bring the entire American esports scene under one structure and give it a clearer direction moving forward.
