Vivaro.us Exits Under Pressure as Smaller Sweeps Sites Struggle
Vivaro.us, a leading U.S. sweepstakes casino operator, will bow out on October 1 following heightened regulatory scrutiny and lawsuits against peers.

Vivaro.us, one of the leading US sweepstakes casino operators, is closing on October 1st. The company’s decision to close shop comes on the heels of increased regulatory inquiries and cases filed against other popular operators.
Although there’s no official corporate press release, players visiting its website will find a “closed shop” message, saying the platform is no longer working. Vivaro’s players have until the end of September to redeem their balances or remove their personal details before the site officially closes.
What Forced Vivaro to Exit the US Sweeps Market?

Launched in October 2024 and with a sweeps gaming footprint in over 30 states, Vivaro is abruptly leaving the industry. Here are some of the key factors that contributed to its decision:
- Heightened regulatory checks and inquiries. The industry’s biggest legal news is probably California’s decision to approve Assembly Bill 831, which is currently on the governor’s desk. Passed unanimously, this bill is awaiting Governor Gavin Newsom’s signature, with a deadline on October 12th, 2025. If signed or left unsigned, the bill becomes a law, making sweepstakes casinos illegal.
- California’s one of the biggest markets for sweepstakes casinos. Whatever happens in the state will always have a ripple effect on the industry. The state accounts for nearly 20% of the industry, so a ban will impact Vivaro, especially smaller operators.
- Rising costs of regulatory compliance. Increasing inquiries into sweepstakes casinos’ operations are impacting operators’ wallets. Legal representation and adapting to shifting state rules put smaller operators at a disadvantage. Bigger operators with brand recognition, such as WOW Vegas and Stake, are more likely to “absorb these costs”, leading to market consolidation.
Vivaro is a relatively new player with modest reach. Unlike bigger operators, Vivaro lack the resources to address these pressures.
So, What’s Next for Vivaro and its Players?
The website has already stopped advertising and hosting its casino games and bonuses, and players have until the end of September to redeem their winnings or Sweeps Coins (SCs). Only fully verified customers can initiate redemptions, and after October 1st, redemptions and customer support are no longer available. The operator’s exit from the US market highlights the growing challenges small sweep operators face in a stricter regulatory environment.
Unlike other established sweepstakes casino operators, Vivaro and other smaller operators struggle to finance legal representation and sustain their operations.
Vivaro isn’t the only “small operator” under pressure. LoneStar, Rolla, Spree, and RichSweeps are examples of new platforms with limited traction compared to established sites. As more regulations are introduced, most of these smaller operators may be forced to fold and follow Vivaro out of the US sweeps market.
