Aurora Gaming Partners With Conor McGregor Ahead of UFC Return
Aurora Gaming has signed former UFC champion Conor McGregor as the organization's first major traditional sports partner, expanding its reach beyond esports.

Serbian esports organization Aurora Gaming has announced a new partnership with former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor, marking the organization's first collaboration with a globally recognized athlete outside the gaming industry.
While financial terms and the length of the agreement were not disclosed, Aurora said the partnership is intended to bring together esports, professional combat sports, and entertainment, reflecting a broader strategy to expand the organization's reach beyond competitive gaming.
Aurora Looks Beyond Traditional Esports Partnerships
Since launching in 2022, Aurora Gaming has built its brand through competitive success across titles such as Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Apex Legends, and Warcraft III. Its commercial partnerships have largely remained within the gaming and betting industries, making the addition of McGregor a notable shift in direction.
"Conor McGregor is a legendary athlete who changed UFC forever," said Aurora Gaming CEO Adalet Mamedov. "For Aurora Gaming, this partnership with Conor is a meeting of two competitive cultures that share the same values: a champion's mindset and the drive to win."
Aurora has not revealed what McGregor's role will involve, leaving open the possibility of future content collaborations, promotional campaigns, or appearances tied to the organization's esports teams.
Partnership Builds on Existing Connections
Although McGregor is Aurora's first high-profile traditional sports ambassador, the partnership isn't entirely without precedent.
Aurora's long-term principal sponsor is 1xBet, a betting operator that also maintains its own partnership with McGregor. More recently, the organization strengthened its presence in the prediction markets sector after Polymarket became the title sponsor for several of its competitive rosters.
Adding one of combat sports' biggest names gives Aurora another avenue to reach audiences beyond esports, continuing a trend of organizations partnering with mainstream athletes and entertainers to broaden their global appeal.

Announcement Comes Ahead of McGregor's UFC Return
The partnership was announced just days before McGregor is scheduled to return to the Octagon on July 11, where he is set to face Max Holloway in a highly anticipated rematch.
With one of the biggest events on the UFC calendar approaching, the timing gives Aurora Gaming immediate global exposure as McGregor prepares for his first fight in several years. Whether that visibility develops into long-term content initiatives or wider commercial campaigns remains to be seen, but the partnership represents one of Aurora's most ambitious branding moves since entering the esports scene.
