Indian Gaming Revenue Hits Record $46.2 Billion as Tribal Casinos Continue Historic Growth

The U.S. tribal gaming industry reached another milestone in fiscal year 2025, generating a record $46.2 billion in gross gaming revenue (GGR), according to new figures released by the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC).

The total represents a 5.3% increase, or approximately $2.3 billion, compared to fiscal year 2024, highlighting another year of sustained growth for tribal gaming. The NIGC said the results were based on independently audited financial statements submitted by 545 gaming operations owned by 246 federally recognized tribes across 29 states.

The latest report reinforces tribal gaming's role as one of the largest economic drivers for Native American communities, supporting government services, infrastructure projects, and employment while strengthening tribal sovereignty.

NIGC Vice Chair Billy Kirkland credited the industry's continued performance to its importance as an economic foundation for tribal governments.

"Indian gaming is an important contributor to tribal economies that empowers sovereign tribal governments to invest in their communities and provide their citizens with essential services," Kirkland said.

Associate Commissioner Sharon Avery also praised tribal operators and regulators for maintaining responsible growth across the industry.

"I would like to wish the Indian gaming community a job well done on another strong year. These GGR results reflect the continued commitment of tribal regulators and operators to responsible growth and community benefit."

Gross gaming revenue represents the total amount wagered by patrons after winnings are paid out and serves as the industry's primary performance benchmark under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.

While casino performance often draws the headlines, gaming revenue extends well beyond the gaming floor for many tribal nations.
