PGL Returns to Poland With New CS2 Event in Lodz
Counter-Strike is returning to Poland as PGL officially announces the PGL Łódź 2027 CS2 tournament.

Counter-Strike is officially returning to Poland after nearly a decade.
PGL confirmed that it will host PGL Łódź 2027 in Łódź from March 18 to 28, 2027, marking the organizer’s first major Counter-Strike event in the country since PGL Major Kraków 2017.
The tournament will be played inside Atlas Arena and will feature 16 teams competing for a $1 million prize pool.
For many longtime fans, the announcement immediately brought back memories of the Kraków Major, which remains one of the most memorable events in Counter-Strike history, particularly for Polish supporters who packed the arena during Virtus.pro’s run in front of a home crowd.

Poland Returns to the International CS2 Calendar
Poland has always been one of Counter-Strike’s most passionate regions, but top-tier international events in the country became increasingly rare over the last several years.
That is why PGL’s return carries significance beyond just another tournament announcement.
According to the organizer, the event was initially planned for Kraków before venue scheduling issues led to the move toward Łódź instead. Despite the change, community reaction around the announcement remained largely positive, especially among Polish fans who have waited years for another major arena event.
The tournament will also continue PGL’s recent push to expand its Counter-Strike circuit over the next several years.
Earlier this year, the company revealed plans to invest heavily into future CS2 events and ecosystem support between 2027 and 2028 as competition between tournament organizers continues growing.
For now, though, the biggest takeaway from the announcement is simple: one of Counter-Strike’s historic countries is finally getting another major event on home soil.
