Cantor Fitzgerald has taken another step into the prediction market industry by launching institutional trading services for event contracts, giving professional investors access to a market that has until now been largely driven by retail participation.

Through the new offering, Cantor will act as an introducing broker, allowing its institutional clients to execute large block trades on Kalshi's federally regulated prediction market. The move is designed to make it easier for hedge funds, family offices and other professional investors to trade event contracts at scale while remaining within a regulated framework.

Opening the Door to Institutional Investors

Prediction markets have attracted significant growth over the past two years, but participation from institutional investors has remained relatively limited.

Cantor believes that has been driven less by a lack of interest and more by the absence of infrastructure that is capable of supporting large trades. Under the new arrangement, institutional orders will be negotiated off the public order book, while Susquehanna Predictions will provide pricing and market support for those transactions.

A Sign of a Changing Industry

The announcement is another clear indication that prediction markets are continuing to evolve beyond their what was expected when they first launced.

As more financial firms enter the space, institutional grade trading tools and services are becoming an increasingly important part of the industry's development. Companies are investing in brokerage services, trading infrastructure and liquidity solutions as they prepare for greater participation from professional investors.

Wall Street Interest Continues to Grow

Cantor's latest move follows a series of efforts across the industry to attract institutional capital into prediction markets.

With regulated exchanges such as Kalshi expanding their product offerings and brokerage firms building the infrastructure to support larger transactions, the sector is beginning to look more familiar to traditional financial markets. While retail traders remain the foundation of prediction markets, institutional participation could become an increasingly important driver of future growth.
