Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 13, 2026
UMG Gaming is an open database of US iGaming sites. We collect as little personal information as we can, we sell none of it, and this page describes all of it: what we collect, what is public, and the choices you have.
What we collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- your email address and a password. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes by our authentication provider; we never see or store them in plain text;
- your display name, which is public;
- optionally, a profile picture, which is public;
- optionally, your home state, used to warn you when a site does not accept players where you live.
When you write reviews, we store their content, star ratings and timestamps. Like every website, our infrastructure also keeps short-lived technical logs, which include IP addresses, for security and debugging.
What is public
Your display name, profile picture and reviews are public: they appear on the sites you review and on your reviewer profile page, and they are part of the open UMG Gaming database published under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.
Your email address is never public and is never included in the open database. Your home state is private: it is used only to show you availability warnings and never appears on your public profile or in your reviews.
How we use your information
- to operate your account and sign you in;
- to send transactional email only: account confirmation and password resets. We send no marketing email;
- to show you state-availability warnings if you set a home state;
- to keep reviews honest: detecting duplicate accounts, fake reviews and abuse.
What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
- We use no advertising, no ad networks and no third-party tracking cookies.
- We use no affiliate or tracking links: visiting an operator from UMG Gaming sends nothing about you to us or to them.
- We do not share your personal information with the operators listed in the directory. Operators cannot find out your email or home state, or pay to learn who reviewed them.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies: the session cookies that keep you signed in to your account. There are no analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, which is why we show no cookie banner. If you never sign in, we set no meaningful cookies at all.
Service providers
Your data is processed by two infrastructure providers acting on our behalf: Supabase, which hosts our database, authentication and file storage, and Vercel, which hosts the website. Both store data in the United States and are bound by their own security and privacy commitments. No other third parties receive your personal information.
Open data and your reviews
Reviews are published as open data under CC BY-SA 4.0, credited to your display name, as you agreed at signup. You can edit or delete your reviews at any time and they will be removed from UMG Gaming. Be aware that because the database is openly licensed, copies of previously published reviews may persist in third-party datasets that were made while the review was live. That is inherent to open data, and a good reason to review under a display name rather than your real name if you prefer privacy.
Your choices
- You can change your display name, profile picture and home state at any time in account settings, and edit or delete your reviews from your reviews page.
- To delete your account entirely, or to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, email alex@umggaming.com from your account email. We honor deletion and access requests regardless of where you live.
Retention and security
We keep account data for as long as your account exists and delete it when your account is deleted. Technical logs are short-lived. All traffic to UMG Gaming is encrypted with HTTPS, and passwords are hashed by our authentication provider.
Age
UMG Gaming covers gambling-related products and is for adults aged 21 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If you believe someone under 21 has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the current version will always be posted here with its last-updated date, and we will note material changes prominently on the site. Questions about privacy can be sent to alex@umggaming.com.
