Kalshi and Nasdaq UMG

Kalshi has partnered with Nasdaq to strengthen its trade surveillance capabilities, introducing technology designed to help detect insider trading, market manipulation and other suspicious activity across its prediction markets.

The multi year agreement will see Kalshi integrate Nasdaq's market surveillance platform alongside its existing monitoring systems, giving the exchange access to the same technology used by more than 50 exchanges and over 20 regulators worldwide. The move comes as prediction markets face increasing scrutiny from lawmakers and regulators over market integrity.

Building on Existing Safeguards

Rather than replacing its current surveillance framework, Kalshi will introduce Nasdaq's platform in phases, combining the two systems to strengthen oversight across both its prediction markets and its expanding range of perpetual style derivatives.

The technology is designed to monitor trading in real time, helping identify potential insider trading, market abuse and manipulation while also streamlining the reporting of trade data to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

Increased Focus on Market Integrity

The partnership follows a series of high profile insider trading investigations involving prediction markets, which have generated greater attention from regulators and lawmakers.

Kalshi has continued to expand its surveillance team throughout the year and says it actively refers suspicious trading activity to regulators when potential violations are identified. By adding Nasdaq's surveillance platform, the company hopes to further strengthen confidence in how its markets are monitored.

Prediction Markets Continue to Mature

As prediction markets grow, operators are investing more heavily in the infrastructure needed to support larger trading volumes and institutional participation.

For Kalshi, the Nasdaq partnership is another step towards building a market that more closely resembles traditional financial exchanges, where advanced surveillance tools play an important role in maintaining fair and orderly trading. As the industry continues to evolve, market integrity is likely to remain a key area of focus for both operators and regulators.
