PredictBay has officially publicly launched with plans to compete in the prediction market sector by focusing on one minute markets, offering traders a faster paced alternative to longer duration event contracts.
Built on the Sui blockchain, the platform is initially launching with short term markets tied to assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Sui, gold and oil. Rather than competing directly on politics or sports, PredictBay is targeting traders looking for prices based markets that settle in just 60 seconds.
A Different Approach to Prediction Markets
While platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket have built their businesses around real world events, PredictBay is focusing on short duration financial markets.
The company says its platform allows users to predict whether an asset's price will finish above or below a predetermined level by the end of each one minute trading window. According to PredictBay, the markets are designed to provide quick settlement and continuous trading opportunities throughout the day.
PredictBay also claims to have processed $26.1 billion in paper trading volume during testing ahead of its public launch, although real money trading has not yet been introduced.
Competition Continues to Grow
The launch is another sign that the prediction market industry is becoming a very competitive sector.
As established operators continue expanding into sports, finance and real world events, new entrants are looking for ways to stand out by targeting specific audiences or introducing different trading formats. PredictBay's focus on one minute markets sets it apart from platforms that typically offer contracts lasting hours, days or even weeks.
Short Term Markets Gain Momentum
Demand for shorter duration products has continued to grow across the prediction market sector, with operators introducing new ways for users to trade around fast moving market activity.
Whether PredictBay can establish itself alongside larger names such as Kalshi and Polymarket remains to be seen, but its launch shows how innovation continues to shape the industry as companies explore new products and trading experiences.
