Team Spirit Shatters SEA Dominance to Claim Historic MSC 2026 Crown

For the first time in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang history, the trophy for a major international championship is heading outside of Southeast Asia. Eastern European powerhouse Team Spirit pulled off a monumental feat over the weekend, outlasting Myanmar’s Yangon Galacticos in a wild seven-game thriller to capture the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2026 title in Paris.

Taking place at the Lenovo Legion Gauntlet arena as part of the Esports World Cup, the Grand Final had everything you could ask for in a high-stakes series. Spirit walked away with the grand prize of $1 million from the total $3.025 million prize pool, ending nine years of uninterrupted Southeast Asian dominance on the global MLBB stage.

Contrasting Journeys to the Final Stage

Both rosters came into the tournament as regional champions, Spirit holding their fifth consecutive MLBB Continental Championship title, and Yangon Galacticos fresh off a dominant campaign in Myanmar’s domestic league. Yet, their paths through Paris couldn't have looked more different. While Yangon Galacticos cruised through the early stages with an undefeated group run, Spirit had to scratch and claw their way through the lower bracket after an early sweep by Team Vamos.

That lower-bracket scare seemed to wake the Russian squad up, sparking dominant 3-0 sweeps over Vamos and Indonesian juggernaut ONIC Esports to push them into the finals.

A Seven-Game Roller Coaster in Paris

The championship series itself turned into an absolute roller coaster. Spirit grabbed control early behind stellar Hirara play from Zaur "zaur egoist" Magomadov and explosive damage from Anton "Hiko" Pak, racing out to a commanding 3-1 series lead. But with their backs against the wall, Yangon Galacticos mounted a furious response. The Burmese underdog stomped Spirit in back-to-back blowouts, taking Game 5 in 11 minutes and Game 6 in just 10; forcing a dramatic Game 7 decider.

With everything on the line, Team Spirit steadied the ship. A tense 16-minute final game saw Spirit regain their composure, securing a critical late Lord that opened up the base and sealed the historic 4-3 victory.

Mathaios “Kid Bomba” Chatzilakos earned Finals MVP honors along with a $25,000 bonus for his game-changing frontline play across the series. Despite coming up just short, Yangon Galacticos claimed $500,000 for second place, marking Myanmar’s best international finish since Burmese Ghouls took runner-up at M2 back in 2021. Further down the bracket, ONIC Esports swept Team Falcons PH 3-0 in the third-place match to take home $250,000, while the Filipinos settled for fourth and $150,000.
